Officially opened in February 2014, The Space in Winyates Centre is a multi-purpose venue designed to provide a place to hold a wide range of community activities and events. Have a look at the information below to find out more about the venue and what is currently happening there.
A Community Space...
During the Winning Winyates Project one of the very apparent issues was the real lack of venues to hold community based activities. There was demand from the community for a wide range of activities including fitness classes and peer support groups but an immediate stumbling block was where to hold these locally.
So the project was delighted when the opportunity came along to refurbish and rent the long empty shopping unit in Winyates Centre, turning it into somewhere the community could use.
One Space. Lots of Potential...
Since it's opening in 2014 The Space has been used for a variety of community activities. These have included cooking sessions, charity events, peer support groups, community meetings, craft groups, childrens after school club, training courses, parties, and a wide range of fitness classes.
With folding tables, stackable chairs, accessible toilet, fully functional demo kitchen, projector & screen, whiteboards and flip chart; this is a versatile venue.
